Today were going to be taking a look at the Pro Series replacement weight distribution head assembly. This replacement head fits Pro Series weight distribution systems PS49903, PS49902, and PS49901. Its made from a very durable steel construction with protective finishing, thats going to keep it safe from rust and corrosion. Under the ball platform, located right here, youre going to notice that it does come with a new set bolt. The area where the spring bars go up into, its going to have that spring clip design, makes installing and releasing quick and easy. I also want to point out that located right here on each side is going to be the included and pre-installed grease zerks. That makes maintenance seem quick and easy.
It does come with a 2 5/16-inch steel chrome-plated hitch ball. Its also going to include a sway control ball and necessary mountain hardware. The sway control ball can be used on either side of the head assembly. Its a really nice, durable construction, and then youll notice all the hardware that it comes with. I just want to go over all the components real quick. Its going to come with two new bolts.
This is for attaching the head assembly to the adjustable shank. The adjustable shank is not included, but it does come with the bolts, the nuts and the washers to get that installed and attached to the weight distribution shank. Its also going to come with a hitch pin and clip. This is to secure the weight distribution shank inside the receiver tip of your hitch. Its going to come with two other clips. These are for the frame brackets or lift brackets.
Those clips are used to secure the lift brackets in the up or engaged positions. Then, its going to come with a new spacer rivet. That allows you to get the proper tilt that you need. Theres a slot right here for that spacer rivet. Then, its going to come with seven washers, so you simply add or remove washers to get the tilt that you need for your application. Thats going to do it for todays look at the Pro Series replacement weight distribution head assembly..
The product met expectations. I was dissapointed to learn that the Round Bar Head we purchased was not designed to work with the Shank (RP54970) we also purchased. (although with some modification we can make it work and avoid return/re-ship shipping costs.) Something was missing from the information we researched in trying to decide what combination of products to buy.

Works great except my old round bars won’t lock in. Wasted my money shoulda bought the whole set up instead of trying to save money

This is a good head. I use a little grease on pivot points and I keep it out of the weather when not in use. It looks like new.

This is a solid, well made RV trailer hitch. I have only one challenge with it and that is I cant pull back the flat springs that hold the pin for the leveling bars with my fingers. I have to use a flat head screw driver to release them. I keep an old screw driver in the camper just for that.
Well it's been a year since I purchased this product and it was worth every penny. I was looking for a comparable setup for my new RV as to what I was using on my truck. I wanted to reuse the weight distribution bars between the two hitches. The hitch on the truck was a much older version of a simular style hitch. The guys etrailer were great in analyzing my needs and recomending a new hitch for my RV that would fit my bill. And it did perfectly. Great guys to work with a great product.

The Pro Series Replacement Weight Distribution Bolt-Together Round Bar Head (Item # PS58442) I purchased from etrailer.com is perfect! I was not aware that it came with the trailer and anti-sway bar hitch balls, which saved me a lot of time by not having to swap over my old ones. This unit also comes with grease fittings for the tension bars, which my old unit did not. My old one wore out most likely because there were no grease fittings. The unit comes with all new bolts and spacer, so you don't need anything at all from the old hitch head to install this one. The installation time was under 15 minutes.

My experience with etrailer.com was "unusual"...that is, unusually GREAT! In a world of automated answering systems and companies that virtually eliminate human communication with customers, etrailer.com is a breath of fresh air! My inquiry about this replacement part was by email, with pictures of my old part for clarification. I did not have a manufacturer name or other markings on my old hitch head. I received a prompt reply from this company with additional questions. When they got all the information, they found a unit that would fit and let me know via email. I ordered the part, which was a special order. The folks at etrailer.com sent me an initial email to let me know to expect a delay, but they didn't stop there. I received additional communications from them as to the progress of my order, and then an email indicating it was shipped. The shipment for this heavy part was FREE because it was over $100.

Arrived quickly and worked as advertised! All hardware included. I have a 2017 suburban so we needed a drop hitch because it has air bags in the back, this was perfect. The only thing missing in my opinion is a little direction on how to set things up, being a relatively new trailer owner I had to do a little googling and find out exactly what a “spacer rivet” was and how to adjust the ball to find the correct ride. Other than that this product is great
This product was as advertised. It was completly assembled and works great! The etrailer experiance was awesome! All the local RV shops and trailer shops wanted double the price for this hitch head or would only sell me a whole assembly for $399.00 I had my hitch stolen 2 days before a vacation and etrailer took the extra care to get my hitch shipped to me and on time! This is the only part I needed for a used trailer I bought as I had all the other components. It fit perfectly and is very well made. I was happy you had the hitch part available that l needed and didn't have to buy receiver with equalizer and sway control. My hitch was stolen but didn't take the equalizer bars and sway control.
Exactly as ordered and needed. Just have to double check the bolts for tightness, can't be too safe when hauling a trailer.

Received product sooner than expected. Box was torn on bottom and hardware bag wasn't sealed. Hardware parts were mostly out of bag. Missing one washer. I haven't assembled or used hitch yet. We already have two different sway bars that we hope will fit. If not, will take a next step.

I contacted the manufacturer and the replacement weight distribution head you need is part # RP58112 for your reese round bars with 1,000 lb tw. According the manufacturer they changed the tongue weight on the 10,000 lb round bars to 800 lbs tongue weight 10 years ago but they still use the same head.
